A Mile a Minute!
Of course everyone has heard this saying! Sometimes it is used to describe an over excited child, a voice speaking to quickly, a fast driving car, many different things. In my case...in Mommapia's case it IS the daily grind of life! Things are moving a MILE A MINUTE and B and are are trying to embrace the ride.
Mommapia is blasting into the next phase. We are small but growing and with that growing there have been some growing pains. Budget, marketing, sales, media etc... time managing, house managing, kid managing, self managing it is a constant battle of staying ahead of the game. However preparation for our next phase has begun.
We are excited about our growing following and support. The feedback has been amazing and we are SO looking forward to our next adventures with our little train that could. We are climbing the hill now. Huffing and puffing all the way up! Opportunities have come along and we are crossing fingers that this will help us to better manage all of our tasks.
For now however we are enjoying the process and embracing our business! If you are a mother, a mom-inventor, a work at home mother or maybe you just have a great idea, we would love to hear from you! How do you manage your time, your business, your family and stay on top of all other things life throws your way?

Like I said after the giveaway on Hip2Save we had a very happy response to our Just For Baby Bib...YIPEE (happy dancing) We are ecstatic about people joining in the love of mommapia! Happy Response!
B and I are so happy with the way the Hip2Save giveaway went! We had close to 2000 enter the contest and were able to give away 5 mommapia bibs! If you did not get a chance to enter this contest there will be more to come in upcoming blog giveaways, so stay tuned.
We are also pleased to say that we are building our inventory quickly. Shipping time has been 7-10 days and we are hoping our new stock of bibs will be able to help speed this along. Time to dust off the sewing machine...
Since the launch of Mommapia I have put sewing on the back burner. Taking up most of time with tweeting, facebooking and joining blogs to be seen and heard. Trying my best to get our little fish noticed in the big pond.

My New FAV kids book
I LoVe to read to my kids and they LoVe to be read to. I love the imagination, the pictures, the lessons that kids books are full off! My kids and I recently came across this book...
It is now our FAV! It is actually 3 short stories in one amazing little book. The pictures are bright and fun, the characters are as charming as can be. I have heard this is the beginning of what will most likely be a series for these 2 lovely characters. Next time you go to the book store grab a copy! You and your kids will NoT be disappointed! I HEART Bink & Gollie!

Easy and Delicious
B told me about these delicious little MRE's (meal ready to eat). Plum Organics baby food, stamped USDA Oragnic. 6+ months no sugar, salt or artificial ingredients added. Plenty of fruit and veggie combos these little things have been a godsend. You simply unscrew the top and you can feed baby directly from the pouch or squeeze into a bowl. When finished the cap can be screwed back on refrigerated and saved for later. That is if your little one hasn't gotten every last drop, like mine! I just can't get over the connivence of these and the fact that they are organic makes them guilt free for feeding on the go! Double shot espresso makes the world go round
B and I have many things in common
-both married to college basketball coaches, which makes us both basketball widows but of course we would have it no other way.
-we are both mothers of 3 children
-we love realty TV and love to chat about the shows as if we are part of them
-we both live FAR away from family, B an Aussie native lives on the other side of the world from "home"
-we love gourmet veggie pizza
-we are not good at asking for help, we are women we can do ANYTHING
-but the number one thing we have always had in common (except for B for about 2 weeks one time when she decided to let go of her addiction until me the enabler reeled her back in bawhaha...evil laugh) IS we both agree that coffee makes the world go round!
We have worked so hard on our new venture. Early mornings, late nights and long days, but we got by with a little help from our friend...the Breville espresso machine! This was a present from my father about 4 Christmas ago, wait four?! Can it be?! My baby is already 4?!
When you are a WAHM ( for those of you that are as bad as I am figuring out those things, Work At Home Mom) you become master of the circus! Able to type with one hand, while texting in the other. Nurse a baby while cooking everyone else dinner, drive and find the passy in the back seat (knees are there for a reason) talk on the phone and order drive thru, hold conference calls in the bathroom, respond to emails still wearing pajamas and all the other fun stuff we get to call our daily grind. Really though, the list goes on because life doesn't stop to give you time to catch up!
These last couple weeks were crunch time. B and I had given ourselves a date, a looming date that was made to inspire us to push on and do the work. A date that we wanted our website up and running. Ekkk, it was happening hold on this ride goes FAST! But we did it! We got it all done pressed the publish button to the site and raised a mug to cheers.

Before we get snowed in...
I was up this morning running around with my little munchkins before this midwest snow/ice-storm rolls through. I like to shop early in the morning when no ones else is there. My kids have free reign to run the isle's without interruption and I can cruise coffee in hand collecting my food items.
This morning however with a winter advisory alert was the exact opposite. I could tell pulling in the parking lot it was gonna be a fight for the last carton of eggs and the last loaf of bread. Moms sizing each other up for who would get the last carton of 2% Horizon milk! People were everywhere in the store loading up for the snowed in days to come.
While I braved the crowd and swerved my way around obstacles I managed to get my storm supplies milk, eggs, bread and of course a fresh deck of cards and Life and Style magazine. Girls gotta have the necessities!
The grocery store wasn't however the only place I needed to go before this storm. I received a voicemail last night that made me one happy momma, the new "Just for baby Bibs" arrived finished and ready for pick up!! Woohoo happy dance!!! Kids in tow we snatched them up before the snow!!! Hey that's a rhyme?!

Here we Gooooooo!!!

After months of hard work and TONs I mean tons of planning Bianca and I are finally ready to put our blood, sweat and tears on the world wide web! We are both so excited to be starting a brand new company from the ground up. Ideas that were born through lot's of interrupted phone conversations (we both are very busy mothers on the side) thoughts shared and born over morning coffees before the kids needed to be rushed off to school and husbands needed kissed good-bye for the day.
Ok if we are being real a lot of these phone conversations that birthed these ideas were often done while we were nursing our own babies, cooking family dinners, changing diapers, breaking up sibling fights and as much as both of us hate to admit behind the wheel of our car in the drive thru of Starbucks!
So much time has gone into our newest baby, Mommapia. First the name came about because Bianca and I both had our third child, little girls one day apart. She calls her adorable darling Little Momma, and I call mine Sweet Pia. Put these two amazing girls together and you get Mommapia, the company name. We found this name fitting because the original idea from Bianca came about while we were both whining about being constantly wet while breastfeeding our new rugrats. Using bibs, burp clothes, breast pads, nursing covers and the occasional random household item, paper towel, tissue etc :) ... we soon found ourselves juggling more than just life with a new baby.
We thought there has to be some sort of way to get everything you need in ONE thing. I, Suzanne started thinking about the design. Taking the idea and drawing it out on paper. I remember the first picture I drew of it that I sent to Bianca via text. A bib that extends on both ends to allow the mother to use it as a bib, burp cloth and even a modesty cover when needing privacy. An All-IN-ONE feeding bib.
We are excited to be bringing our idea to the world. Bringing function and fashion to feeding. The worlds first ever patent-pending Just for Baby Bib...Mommapia, Love the bib you're in!
